Those are
questions which require answers and therefore, me, since I am also an
emigrant since 1963, and since I am aware of the problems, having
performed functions in some offices such as: Chairman of the Co. AS. IT
( Committee of Attendance To Italians) and C.I.A.S. (Italian Committee
of Attendance To Schools), a member of the C.N.I. (National Committee
for Agreements), a consultant for the region of Apulia, a director of
the monthly magazine called ¨Nuova Puglia¨, e ¨Voce del Meridione¨
(New Apulia and Voice of the South); in view of all this, I intensified
contacts and news exchanges with federations of Italian regional
Asociations in the world, diplomatic and consular institutions, I felt
the need to extend the initiative of the pageant to MISS
ITALIA NEL MONDO.
I wanted and I had to know how and where these people lived, at first they were called ¨Transplanted People¨, then they were defined as ¨ emigrants¨ and now ¨Italians in the World¨, Therefore, MISS ITALIA NEL MONDO (Miss Italy in the World), was born from the requirements and pains in life, living as emigrants, from the thorough study of the journeys all over the world and in order to give the fair acknowledgement to the way, not easy, often humiliating, full of renunciation, sacrifice and unforeseen incidents, to those people who going across mountains, plowing seas and oceans, had to leave their own land, a center of millenary civilization, and had to go off, thousands and thousands of kilometers away, in search of a job.
