How was it born and why?

At a distance of fifteen years (yes, because we are in 1986), the A.C.S.I. (Agency for international Contests and pageants) of Saverio Insalata & sons, after having organized in Switzerland in 1985 the first beauty contest reserved for young girls having an pullés (the Puglia in Italian) descent and residing in Switzerland, MISS PUGLIA IN SWITZERLAND, it organizes MISS ITALIA (ITALY) in Switzerland, a pageant intended for young girls having an Italian descent, residing in Switzerland, with the participation of representatives of the Italian and Swiss institutions, unanimous consensus from the audience, the press and sample opinion of the Italian television.

Italians in Italy number about sixty million, the same quantity outside Italy, scattered in all the five continents. But who are these people? Why did they emigrate? What do they do and how do they live?
